Thermoforming is a manufacturing process where a plastic sheet is heated to a high-enough temperature that permits it to be stretched into or onto a mold and cooled to a finished shape.
Then it is filled with the relevant product, sealed with a top film and trimmed to create a usable package.
Vacuum and/ or MAP techniques can be applied.
Various types of flexible or rigid thermoforming films can all be used when creating thermoforming packaging.
