A Brick or Square bag is a modification of flat bottom bag combined with vacuum technology (by means of a vacuum chamber attached below the sealing jaws). After the bag is being formed with a square bottom and filled, it is vacuumised resulting in a compact, “brick” form.

This bag type combines the advantages of an attractive competitive package with those of vacuum packaging, which is prolonged product shelf life due to air removal. They also reduce storage and transportation costs as they minimize empty spaces around the packages.

It can be used mainly in granular products such as coffee or legumes, as powders may be sucked inside the vacuum pump, unless proper filters are in place.

PA/PE, PP and multi-layered films can all be used when creating a brick type bag.
